The Joint Apprenticeship Training Program serving Local 263 of
the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, was established in
1950 and has been involved in the education of the local's journeymen
since that time. The committee governing the program is comprised
of members from the Union and the signatory contractors.
Apprentices work for the signatory contractors during the day and
attend classes at the school built for apprenticeship training, on two
nights a week from September to April. The Apprentice program is
governed by the regulations of the United States Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration.
