The Situation Room on CNN featured SMART General President Michael Coleman, who appeared on their broadcast Wednesday, April 16th to discuss SMART apprentice Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s ongoing case and his right to due process.
“I’m heartbroken. I’m angry,” Coleman said. “He’s a good man. He’s an outstanding employee. They [his employer] would like to have him back.”
He spoke candidly about the struggles our brother’s wife and children are facing, including trying to keep their health insurance alive, and made it clear that SMART will always fight for the rights of every single member.
“We just want due process. Our union is founded on due process.”
We encourage every member to take a few minutes to watch this important clip and see our General President speak out with the strength, clarity and conviction that defines SMART.
